Send in your photos

There were LOTS of pictures taken Saturday night.  I hope I can convince everyone that took pictures this weekend, to send me a copy!  That would be a huge way to thank the committee and for us to share with each other the best pictures taken both nights.    Mailing photos is NOT my preferred way to receive your pictures.  If that’s your only option and you don’t want to try one of my suggested methods, then I guess you can email them to me.  But please try one of the other methods.  I will organize the photos, maybe figure out a cool way to share and tag them, and make them available to everyone.  Please go to this page and follow one of the suggested methods to send your photos in:

LBJ Class of 1980 30th Reunion in the books

The 30th Reunion was a huge success.  We had a great turnout for both Friday and Saturday night.  We had over 20 people show up to the Friday night event at Scholtz’s that we weren’t expecting for a total of about 150 people.  We had about 120 Saturday night.

Let us know what you liked or didn’t like about the weekend.  Some folks expressed a desire to have a 35 reunion.

Click on the “Leave a comment” link below and sound off!

It’s here!

Tomorrow evening at 7pm is our Scholtz’s  Happy Hour event. If you haven’t signed up and your plans have changed,  you can pay at the door!  Same thing for Saturday night at the DoubleTree North. Pay at the door if you can make it last  minute!

There is a bike rally this weekend in Austin and Sholtz’s may be crowded so keep that in mind as you search for parking!

At the DoubleTree North (I-35 & 290) the only parking is in the garage, just to the right of the front door and it will cost $8.  Valet will be $14.

After this weekend, we will post online, a copy of the slideshow presented at the DoubleTree event, and photos from both events.  We will also be creating a directory of everyone that has registered with us and who has given us permission to include their contact information.

See everyone soon!

For those who have registered, thanks, it’s going to be fun.  If you haven’t yet purchased tickets please do so now:
Both events are private parties and the ticket purchases go towards rental of the facilities and other expenses.
If you haven’t purchased tickets because you are uncertain about your schedule or are unable to pay at this time, please let us know you are a maybe so we can have an accurate head count.  We can contact you to make arrangements for late registration.  If you don’t contact us and you decide to attend after the deadline of May 1 has passed, there may be an extra surcharge.

30th Reunion less than 3 months away!

Summer is almost here.  Excitement over the Reunion is building and more classmates are being located and registering with us every day.  Finding and contacting the remaining classmates has proven to be difficult.  To date, a little over 1/3 have registered with us, a few more than that have been contacted but have not registered.  Our goal of contacting 90% may not be realistic.  How about 50%?  We have 119 registered classmates, can we get 52 more to register to reach 50%?  If you haven’t registered yet please do.  Again it doesn’t commit you to anything, it just updates our records so we can contact you when we need to: http://tinyurl.com/lbjclassof80.  Also, even if you can’t attend you have the option of being included in a directory.

People are beginning to commit to the Reunion events.  If you can, please consider committing and purchasing your tickets now: http://www.kleymeyer.com/lbjclassof80/reunion30.html.
There is an online purchase option.

To date we have sold 17 tickets to both events.  This page will be kept up to date with the people that are coming:
http://tinyurl.com/lbjclassof80-30thattendees

To everyone that has purchased a ticket, I will be sending out a link to a survey to help select the music to play at the dinner/dance party.

Don’t forget we have a group on facebook named “L.B.J Class of 1980″

30th Reunion 5 months away!

Hello Jags, hope everyone had a terrific holiday.
We’re only 5 months away from our Reunion! Now is the time to put the full-court press on locating classmates not yet registered with us.  We are up to 81 registered classmates leaving about 261 that may not know about the reunion this summer.  We want to ask everyone that has registered to make one last effort to contact classmates that you are in contact with or that you are able to contact through family members or perhaps you have an old phone number, address or email you could try.
There is a good chunk on Facebook that have not yet register with us. Registering doesn’t commit you to anything, it just allows us to send out occasional emails relevant to the 30th Reunion or future LBJ class of 80 topics.  It also lets us know that you know about the Reunion. Listed below are the names of people that are not registered.  If you are friends with them on Facebook or you have a way to attempt to contact them, please do it now.
Ask them for an email address and phone number and ask them to fill out the short form here: http://tinyurl.com/lbjclassof80
Reply to this email or contact any Reunion Committee Member (http://lbjclassof80.wordpress.com/30th-reunion-committee/) and let us know who you were able to reach, send us their email and phone number if you were able to get it or let us know if they were contacted but are not interested in any more contact from  us.
Finally, we will need to provide a deposit on the facilities we have booked, the first week of February.  If anyone is able to commit to the Reunion now, we could use some funds to help us with the deposit.  We don’t need many, just a few to register for the Reunion, and we should have enough to cover the deposit.   Please use the link at the bottom of the invitation to pay online using a credit card or PayPal:  http:/www.kleymeyer.com/lbjclassof80/reunion30.html
Your committee has been working hard and meeting monthly to assure a terrific weekend June 11-12, 2010.  Please help us get the word out, if you can.
-Alan Kleymeyer
